The Abu Dhabi Sports network is undoubtedly one of the most popular networks across the Middle East. The broadcaster has always provided Middle Eastern residents with access to the region’s top sporting events. Of course, the company is just getting started and they’re setting their sights on something bigger and bolder. The company is set to unveil their brand new, rebranded channels in late August of 2015. The channels will provide sports enthusiasts with access to a wide array of new programs and exclusive broadcasts of various sporting events. Although the group intends to focus on local sports, they also admit they’ll broadcast international sporting events as well.
Abu Dhabi Sports is a part of the Abu Dhabi Media network, which is responsible for publishing The National. The network’s first big event will take place on the weekend of August the 6th. During this weekend, they’ll deliver coverage of the Italian Super Cup. The matchups expected should undoubtedly encourage lots of Middle Eastern sports fans to tune in and soak up the fun. The chairman of Abu Dhabi Media, Mohamed Ebraheem Al Mahmood, admitted that the change followed closely in suit with the restructuring of Abu Dhabi Media. Aside from the aforementioned changes, Al Mahmood also revealed that the group intended to re-launch Al Ittihad newspaper and the YAS channel.
